Paula lives and paints in Columbia, SC. She retired in 1996 after working for 32 years with the public school system where she taught English and served as a librarian and a district instructional media/technology administrator. After retiring in 1999, Paula signed up for an art class and decided that she loved painting. She constantly seeks inspiration from her surroundings and from artists in her community. She is a member of four local art guilds and shows her work at the Village Artists Gallery in the Village at Sandhill in Columbia, South Carolina. | |||
Paula also uses her computer skills to promote art in the Columbia area. She designed and maintains websites for the Trenholm Artists Guild (www.trenholmartistsguild.org), the Crooked Creek Art League (www.crookedcreekart.org) and the Seven Oaks Art League (www.sevenoaksart.org). She also has designed websites for individual artists in the Columbia area. Paula tries to spend a part of each day drawing or painting. She paints in her home "studio" and also paints each Wednesday with the Trenholm Artists Guild at Forest Lake Park and at the Village Artist Gallery on Tuesdays. Paula enjoys painting flo wers but other subjects entice her from time to time. Her newest passion is colored pencil portraits. She began painting relatives but now does commission work as time permits. |
